Usually the GP refers you to a dietician at the hospital and then yhe hospital appointment they will recommend doing an egg ladder at home. Not much happens at the GP one xx
Ill add that they may also do the egg ladder under a controlled environment in the hospital depending on how bad the reaction was but this is something the dietician will discuss with you x
my little boy had a reaction to egg yesterday! broke out in hives, vomited and swelled up like a little balloon bless him. out of hours GP just gave antihistamines. luckily he has a GP appointment today for his eczema so hoping they'll do a referral
My LO had a reaction to eggs. The GP referred us to a dietitian. However later advised they no longer see babies for egg allergies and we were provided information to do the egg ladder at home x
My baby girl is also allergic to egg. The GP prescribed piriton and told me to reintroduce egg in 6 months' time. As above, they don't refer for egg allergies anymore, we are with a dietitian for dairy allergy, and they won't help with the egg allergy x
@Jay P so the GP gave us a referral for an allergy RAS test and I assume from then an allergist will help us with a plan. The GP seemed a bit clueless to be honest, she was very unsure in all the answers she gave me
Please keep me updated, I think my son has one too, I wanna try to give him it one more time to be sure. He doesn’t break into hives but he does vomit
