My son has a coconut allergy! We can only use sanex 0% hypoallergenic in the bath as the only thing that doesn’t contain coconut!
wow, that's a bummer! i had no idea coconut was in so many products either until i started checking, and yeah, it can be tricky with all those derivatives sneaking in. my little one had a reaction to coconut too, so now i’m super careful about what i buy. good luck figuring it all out! Just looked it up on the 'Heal App' and here’s what it says: "It's understandable to feel concerned about potential allergens, especially when it comes to your little one. Coconut allergies can affect some children, and derivatives like cocamide MIPA and cocamidopropyl betaine, which are derived from coconut oil, can indeed be present in many personal care products. To minimize exposure, consider switching to products labeled as "coconut-free" or those specifically designed for sensitive skin. You might also want to patch-test any new products on a small area of your skin before using them more widely, just to ensure there's no reaction.
I think my son has coconut sensitivity but it's in his prescription milk. Not sure whether to change it because as you say it's in so many things, it might be better to keep going with it and hope he builds a tolerance so it's not a nightmare for him in later life. He's just rashy with dryness. What's your Lo's symptoms?
