Growth Scans

I’m currently having a low risk pregnancy, no issues have been come up at any point, I’m 31 weeks today. I have not had my belly measured, as it is not accurate. Especially with knowing that it won’t be the same midwife doing the measurements. Even the midwife I was talking to understand my reasons for declining. Now they try to “force” me into two growth scans, the reason I have been given is “we would like to do a check on it”. Even though ultrasounds are also not 100% accurate, and a friend of mine has been stressed the hell out due to them reading the measurements wrong. Anyone has been in a similar situation? What was your outcome? I just fear to have a similar situation as my friend which would stress me out so much more then necessary! I think just because they would like me to do a growth scan isn’t reasoning enough

As someone who is having to have growth scans due to being “higher risk” you honestly have nothing to worry about. I never understand the measuring of the bump because it means nothing e.g I’m plus sized before pregnancy so wouldn’t be accurate. I’ve had 1 growth scan and it was super quick I was in and out within 5 mins. I have another one next week. I guess you have the right to decline. But they’re just offering care? And checking on baby? I see it as a nice excuse to see baby again because when you’re lower risk you don’t get many scans . Just because your friend is stressed with her experience doesn’t mean yours will be the same. I’d rather know my baby is growing well.

Without you letting them measure you how else are they going to ensure baby is growing ? They aren’t accurate but they give a guide and indication to how baby is
