@Zoe how much did your first baby weigh? Did they let you go to 40 weeks/encourage a c section? Sorry for all the questions!
My son was 9lb 12oz and he was born at 37weeks and I was induced due to his size and running out of room also I did a natural delivery they don't encourage csections unless it's medically nessecary back then not sure about now
Hi Ellie, dependent on which trust you are booked at quite often the guidelines refer to either baby being estimated over 4kg or 4.5kg. If baby is, they should discuss impact on mode of delivery and potential complications so you are aware of it. It is still your choice on mode of delivery, just make sure you have been fully informed first. Hope that helps xx
This baby at 27weeks was weighing over 3lb I have a further scan on wedensday at 29weeks to see if it has doubled again or not and then if he has to discuss plans to see what they decide
My friend just had her second baby, both were measuring big and were large babies when they came out. First she tried natural but ended in a c section and second was planned c section. She was consultant led and they agreed due to size that a c section would be best. If not referred already I would talk to the consultant :) from what I could understand from her it was more about the head circumference which was the issue with a vaginal birth.
We were told our baby was going to be big, she was 8lb 7 so hardly huge. Just remember they can't make you do anything, it's your choice and you can always take 10 mins or a day to make any decisions
Both my boys were 9-10lbs (always measuring above the 99th percentile in pregnancy), and both were c sections. First was an emergency as he got stuck, second I did an elective c section which was a lovely experience
This is my 2nd baby iv had 1 growth scan already and this baby is on the 100th percentile already and my last baby the entire pregnancy was 100th percentile aswell so not expecting this baby to be small again
