Increased movements

Hi all just wondering if people have gone in with increased movements and what the outcome was? I ended up in triage last night and midwife and dr were lovely and said I did the right thing because baby was super active but the scans of placenta and amniotic fluid were fine so they said to monitor movements and become back if movements carry on like they are or if I’m concerned and ill get another scan this week. I then ended up going in again today with same rate of movements, but rude midwife who said apparently dr is happy that she’s moving rather than not (conflicting advice from last night when the dr said I did the right thing by going in!) but they’re bringing this growth scan that was next week forward to the next 72 hours to assume discuss what’s next. I asked the midwife if dr is happy for me to carry on with these movements until the scan and all she could said was only I know my own body and they rely on me..which made me think well I was concerned today so what would be the difference in going back in after today? Just feeling very deflated!

Have they not got you on heart rate monitor checking babies heart rate?

@Jess they did yeah they didn’t mention anything about there being an issue with heart rate thankfully but could see that movements were increased!

@Laura I wouldn’t worry then, it’s only if heart rate is high high that there’s a problem, can show babies in distress. Babies probably Tranna her comfy! I’ve Got opposite problem now where my baby hardly moves at all, but she’s breach so feel she’s kicking inwards, I just feel big turns a few times a day 🫣 when she used to kick ridiculous amounts to point I went in for a lot of movements before as I was worried when I was poorly x

You know your own body/ baby and if you feel it’s not usual for them then I’d always go in, it’s a shame the MW today made you feel bad 🙄 I wouldn’t let one person prevent you from going to get checked, just in case next time there were to be an issue! I’d rather go in 100 times and be annoying than not go in and be told I should have!

i never knew increased movements were a thing? i just assumed you only go up if movements are reduced

@Aimee any change in movement need to be looked into, whether reduced or increased xx

Thanks ladies I’m going to keep an eye tonight and if she carries on will ring again until I get some answers/ proper advice! X

Do you know if your baby is engaged yet? I had about 3 days straight last week where baby was moving CONSTANTLY and I was convinced something was wrong, when I went to triage to get checked out, they told me he’d now become engaged and was most likely trying to get comfy in his new position! 🤍
