Gagging before having bottle

I've read that this might be teething related but I wanted to know if other moms are experiencing this. It started about 3 weeks ago. When he sees the bottle and I put it in his mouth, it triggers his gag reflex but then he drinks his milk just fine. He has only ever had regular baby spit up and these days he barely spits up at all. Baby is almost 9 months and is currently teething his 2nd bottom tooth. 1st tooth is out but not fully grown and the 2nd one could pop any day now. He sometimes gets fussy and refuses the bottle because his gums are sensitive. He will literally put the back of his hand over his mouth and say "ouch". 🥹 He is otherwise fine and happy. No fever whatsoever.
