Renault kajar has been great for us as a family of 4 - upgrading due to expanding the family but wouldn’t upgrade otherwise. We’ve managed to fit the car seats in nicely then gone to the airport with 6 large cases in the boot for some sort of reference x
You could get a black box installed. They are often for cheaper insurance and I think anyone can get them. When my partner had one his insurance was way cheaper and once he stopped having it, they still let him pay the same amount. He had his for a year. You could also add family to your insurance but if anyone gets caught on speed camera or has a crash, your insurance will shoot up. Personally I don’t think it’s worth it. My partner’s dad was speeding and my partner was paying like £300 on insurance 💀 so just be wary that anything that happens can affect you
@Dionne yeah I’ve had a black box for the last year, I’m leaning towards selling mine and trying to find a car that’s bigger and cheaper. I’ve dond some quotes for other cars and tbf they’re all giving me around 220-270 for any car. Omg I didn’t know that! I’ve got family added on my insurance now it didn’t bring it down much😩😩
@Meg oh wow sounds like it got massive boot space, just wish we could afford something like that. I don’t do finance it’s a never ending loop of paying extra and never owning the car. Thank you tho!! Xx
@Rachael I’ll have a look thank you!! And my policy isn’t up until mid July so im making sure to look now in case I need to sell my car and then have the time to do it😩 yeah I’ve added family, I’ve heard that adding males rather than females can make it cheaper ? Xx
If it helps, we part ex’d our old car and got the Renault kajar second hand for 7K with 40K miles on the clock. The part ex was 6K so we only paid 1K out of our own money for the car! Xx
@Meg that’s really good! I’ll defo have a look into it some more x
I think all insurance companies will offer different rates. Your best bet might be looking online and researching what they can offer
Cars for space; ford focus is great, ideally I’d want a Skoda superb as they’re huge! But not sure what the insurance is like As for insurance; try looking earlier so have the policy start a few weeks later than you’re actually looking, check who underwrites the insurer as you may not have heard of the company but the main insurance that backs them could be a trustworthy company. See if adding your parents on brings the insurance down? I know I added my dad to my policy once as that reduced it loads because he’d been driving so long without any claims.
