Size up in diapers?

Should I size up my babies diapers? My baby is 5 weeks and still in newborn diapers. The tabs look good still in the plus but his diaper keeps folding where his tummy meets. Sometimes one side the tab is in the area that suggests sizing up but his other side is good. Idk if those times I just put the diaper on wonky. I was curious about sizing up though cause it seems like it might be too tight on his thighs and is leaving marks. However in the 1 size diapers (multiple different brands, luvs, Huggies and pampers) we have had blow outs out the side of the diaper. The size ones seem to not be tight enough on his thighs. The ones also seem really baggy on him like they are sitting really low. So I’m a bit unsure what to do. Size up or should I try different newborn diapers now? We have been using pampers.

Don't have a good answer for you BUT I wouldn't switch to NB huggies. My baby is two wks old we have pampers and huggies and had to stop using pampers because they were way too big and we kept having blow outs with them. If your baby is having fit issues (too small) with NB pampers, then huggies will probably be too small.

I use up&up NB diapers and haven’t had any issues with them. They hold up very well and have the blow out protection inside you have to make sure that extra part is open and stretched out so it lays on the inner thighs correctly

Mine is just 4 days old and his nb diapers looks like that lol on his thigh area too, I’m going to switch for size 1😭😭 mine is a chubby baby for sure lol definitely go one size up to stop the blow outs mama, I notice that always works or change to Huggies snuggles

@Franchesca so I did size up to a one and that’s where the blow outs happened so now I’m not sure if I should do newborn or go to a size one. I’m so stumped cause his poor legs seem squeezed

Honestly I don’t like the way pampers fit I’ve found them to have much less stretch than Huggies and weirdly tight in some places. The tabs look like you could be due for a size up
