Very young babies shouldn’t be in a car seat longer than 30 minutes.

Babies can only stay in a car seat up to 2 hours cause of the way it is on their backs Of going on a long car journey it’s advised to stop at services and get baby out for a bit

30 minutes is the maximum advised for a newborn.

Definitely no longer than 30 minutes x

30 minutes for a newborn, that includes if you attach it on to the pram too once you get to the destination 🙂 x

I think it depends if your car seat is adjustable. When we bought ours the sales assistant said in the standard position it’s about 20-30 mins, if you recline it a little (there’s a safe recline setting for in the car) is can be nearer for 40/45 mins, but any longer than that you need to stop and get baby out the car for a little bit to rest their back.

@Katie i wasnt aware some could be reclined. Which car seat do you have?

It’s the cybex cloud T i-size, it came in the bundle with our pram. It’s got a little handle thing on the back and it can recline partially or fully when it’s on the pram, and it can be reclined partially when in the car.

Same as @Katie - a few of them have a recline function now, I think the maxi cosy also has it, but I also have the cloud T and it was a selling point for me x

@Aimee i have the Nuna PIPA, i’m not sure if it has the reclining function. Will check, thank you x

I recently did a car seat safety awareness, and they said no more than 30 minuets for at least the first 6 months after that no more than 2 hours at a time

I have a cybex car seat and they don’t recommend reclining in the car so be wary of that^

@Amber oh interesting! I know you aren’t supposed to fully recline in the car but we were told the middle setting (just a slight recline) was specifically for the car

I’ve always been told 2 hours.
