Hi! Could you please the name of the daycare you currently go to? I want to make sure to avoid it
Following as I've had the same experience. I'm wondering if our children go to the same daycare? They give the kids fruit loops several times a week, cookies every day etc. Its actually ridiculous. None of the other parents seem to care or think it's a big deal. I spoke up, and they no longer provide my son food that has any added sugars.
Downtown Montessori, Bremner Blvd, I have requested them not to give my baby any cereal or packaged food and they follow that. Everything else is great and I have been very happy with them.
We go to a private Montessori that’s fantastic but they start at 2.5 and require fully potty trained which is the case for most Montessori schools, I believe. I know of one outside of the city that is from an earlier age as they have a baby/toddler program like daycare. Not private so probably has a long wait list. You can go through the list : https://www.toronto.ca/data/children/dmc/a2z/a2za.html
There are only a few ones enrolled in the Montessori foundation. Be careful about that. Dr Maria Montessori didn’t register her name because she said education must be affordable for everybody. But now some businesses are taking advantage of that. https://www.ami-canada.com/findaschool.html
@🍉 good point! Make sure providers are AMI certified!
All the good Montessori schools I know that are downtown don't accept children until potty trained at 2.5 years. I'm sure others exist but this has been my experience e downtown so far.
