@Sarah the only other thing they’ve told me about is his size, due to be a big baby!
I have this however I also have other medical factors in play meaning I’m being induced earlier. As far as I’m aware though if it’s mild and as long as baby is in the optimum birth position then it’s fine. I was told if my baby moves breech/transverse (they had been doing that for a few weeks before) then I’d have to stay in hospital until he was born as there’s risk of cord prolapse if my waters go. However thankfully he’s head down but I’m being induced in a couple weeks anyway due to an issue with babies lung and he’s also measuring over 99th percentile x
@Liberty I think it just depends on your consultant and what agreement you come up with. You might find it goes down again with the next scan mine always does about 36 weeks. I also have big babies all over 9lb, but I had a c section last time and will This time but they've never said about doing it earlier because of the water or size of baby
I was told at my 32 week growth scan I have mild polyhydramnios which I’ve never had before. But as it’s mild, I haven’t got diabetes or any other risk factors or concerns, everything is okay. They did bloods to check for infection but that’s all fine. I have my next growth scan next Friday so it’ll be looked at again but for me nothing is concerning as me and baby are fine and healthy and it’s only a mild case. If you have another scan Wednesday, I’m sure it will give you some peace of mind having baby and placenta etc checked out and your consultant will go over anything. If there’s a concern or need to change birth plan, they’ll let you know. Hope all goes well 🥰
i had polyhydraminos, was diagnosed with it quite late on, still no idea what caused it. i was told i’d have to be induced at 38 weeks as there was a high risk of my waters breaking early and prolapse of the cord. i was scheduled to be induced on the friday and ended up giving birth the day before after going into spontaneous labour😅
Less than 12 is mild polyhydramnios so if all tests are ok they don't normally do anything different. If it goes higher then they guidelines say to consider induction at 40 weeks, but depends on other risk factors. I've had it in all my pregnancies and this one, never find a reason. This time it's make my uterus really irritable I keep getting lots of uncomfortable braxton hicks :-(
