Hi, my little one settled in less than 24 hours! Sometimes it’s quick sometimes it can take a couple weeks. How long has little one been on it?

Can take Upto 6 weeks for symptoms to fully go.. but if the CMPA is severe they will lessen but not fully go away and may need amino acid milk (both of mine ended up with neocate) If it’s only very early days it’s a completely different taste and also the ehf formulas are a lot thinner so maybe giving bab reflux.. try going down a teat or ask gp to prescribe carobel thickener to thicken the milk slightly xxx

@Steff he has been on it for a week, my other son had the same issue and his resolved quite quickly, and my 7 week old always grunts and seems uncomfortable

If he’s been on it a week and you see no change I’d ask for a thickener as it may be giving him reflux.. if still no change I’d ask for an animo acid formula xxxx

@Leah-Shannon Yes I am combi feeding so have also eliminated dairy from my diet, which can take a while to go away, just unsure whether I need amino acid milk or if I should keep trying with nutramigen for a few weeks xx

@Leah-Shannon He doesn’t have mucas in his poo anymore but again I’m not sure if that’s from me being dairy free or the formula, and he only spits up here and there after feeds not a lot, so it’s just confusing if I should carry on with nutramigen or request a change xx

The dietician i spoke to said you need to give it at least 2 weeks to ensure it is making a difference xx

@Deb ah okay I will give it till then at least and see if it makes a difference

Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It's understandable to be concerned about your baby's discomfort after feeding. Nutramigen, a hypoallergenic formula, can take about 1 to 2 weeks to show noticeable improvements in symptoms like fussiness and discomfort, as it helps to reduce allergic reactions to proteins in regular formula. However, if your baby is still uncomfortable after this time, it may be worth considering other factors, such as feeding techniques or potential reflux. In the meantime, try to ensure that your baby is burped well during and after feeds, as trapped air can contribute to discomfort. Have you noticed any specific patterns or triggers that seem to worsen your baby's discomfort?"

@Heaven thank you that is helpful!!x
