I wish I had the chance to have the option. But I found out too late in my contractions so I was forced into a C section. However, my doctor did amazing on the surgery, my mom couldn’t see where the cut was until he came in and showed her where the incision was! But if you want a vaginal birth, I would recommend searching for a birth center and get a doula to massage your baby into head down position.
I found out my baby was transverse between 32-34weeks. The doctor who read my ultrasound actually wasn’t a delivering doctor and had extremely poor bedside manner. They just read my scans and told me I would automatically have to have an C-section and didn’t answer any follow up questions. I was incredibly upset and I cried all day. At my follow up appointment, a different OBGYN reassured me that I had plenty of time for the baby to turn head down and recommend I consider ECV. Babies typically turn between 32-36w. By the time I scheduled my ECV, my baby had naturally turned head down on their own. I just wanted to give some reassurance that there is still time and suggest looking into ECV as soon as possible.
Just come home from a successful ecv! Baby’s been breech since 28 weeks. It was no where near as bad as I thought it would be and over so quickly! Just hoping she now stays head down x
Im 36w2d with a frank breech baby rn. I had an ultrasound at 35w5 and he’s measuring 3 weeks ahead(currently measuring 7lb 4oz). I have another appointment on Wednesday when I’m 36w5 and was told to try and flip him at home (LOTS of YouTube videos!), and if that doesn’t work we’re gonna talk ECV which is where they try to externally rotate him. If I can’t flip him and they can’t, only then am I willing to talk c-section. I would talk to them about an EVC if you haven’t already! I am also terrified. I had a vaginal birth with my first and I so desperately wanted to go unmedicated vaginally with my second 😞 It’s very disheartening when trying to do everything right and it’s just not working out.
