Childcare panic

Just split from my violent ex partner. I'm in the process of starting custody arrangements plus paying for lawyers of all sorts and paying rent. I'm fully employed, but it's still just me and hopefully some UC too! I'm looking at nursery and OMG what do you mean £3000?!!! That's more than my income and UC combined and I still need to pay for everything else. Any advice in regards to childcare or how to make this a bit more affordable?? I'm starting to think I might need to quit my job and I really can't afford to...

Shop around the nurseries, you may be entitled to some funded hours. You can claim back 85% of fees from UC.

Depending on child’s age, you’ll get funded hours from the start of the term after you apply. So the sooner you do it the better. After September, if child is over 9 months old, you’ll get 30 hours funded a week. You can also get 85% of childcare costs back from UC. Don’t panic, do some looking around at different nurseries, and do your application for funding asap ready for the next term x

Thank you both!! I'm trying to get a family member to come for a couple months until I can get all of this sorted! Thank you

Look into county benefits. They can help with childcare payments.
