Nursery fees help.

Sorry I’m absolutely useless at figuring this out. But my little one is 9 months on the 10th of August. So firstly does she qualify for the 30 free hours from September term? Or the term after? and say I wanted to start her at nursery in October, should I actually start her from September in order to ensure I get the free hours?

Following as I haven’t got a clue either 🫣

It will be from September providing you return to work by 30th September. Yes for the funding she would have her place from the start of term. If you start during a term then they won’t accept the funding until the term after x

Thank you @Ayesha technically I return to work in August although I’m using annual leave so will be paid my full salary. Would this count as returning to work? Sorry I’m absolutely clueless 🙃🥲

@Emma it’s honestly not made easy I read it and get more confused 😂

@Lauren it would class as you returning to work in August as you will be technically back at work being paid full pay. Hope that helps! Your situation is identical to mine, my LO starts nursery the first Monday of September xx

There is also the childcare tax free account you can do aswell. For every £8 you pay in, the government pays £2 in and then you pay the provider from that account. It can be used with the free hours

Yes we are the same, we turn 9 months in August. As long as they are 9 months by September you qualify for that term. The next availability won’t be until January if you wait as October isn’t the start of a term so you would have to pay for October to December x
