Tiny bit of advice...don't start woth broccoli.although it is good for health, some adults don't even like it alone, has to be cooked with seasoning or combined with other veggies,,imagine a baby... Try sweet potato, peas, sweetcorn, carrot see if it happens the same. Our LG is nearly 7m when she was a bit over 6m old I tried broccoli also on it's own puree. First spoon was all over her mouth and face as she spit it all, I thought ok, she's tasting it, she does not know how to swallow it was too much in the spoon etc...the second spoon she started screaming and yelling, crying inconsolable and was doing like gag reflex so I stopped. Did not try since, will try again but mixed with other veggies. Had the same with potato as it was oven cooked, think she did not like it.try other veggies see if it happens the same. Good luck😇
My baby was sick a little with Carrot today. She liked it but they are still adjusting to having anything other than milk.. Gagging is completely normal while weaning.. especially if it's with solid foods. He's probably vomited because he gagged. Their gag reflex at this age is really strong and gaggin completely and utterly normal and is GOOD. It's what stops them choking on their first bits of solids. Contrary to the other comment, it is actually recommended to start on theore bitter tastes as humans naturally prefer sweet foods so starting with sweet foods has been shown to increase that preference and lead to more issues with fussier eating and developing a varied diet when older. At this age, it's not about filling their bellies or how much they have, it's about exploring foods and tastes and they still need to get everything they need from milk :)
My son did this so I started on smooth pureés veg and fruit ones only the ones that have 4+ months on they’re like a thin smoothy for about a week just to get him used to swallowing something other than milk and now a month later he eats anything and everything
