Sounds like the doctor thinks it’s silent reflux, has most of the same symptoms just without throwing up or bringing milk back up. When winding her are you doing leg movements? Bicycle legs and rotating her hips? As someone else said tummy rubs help too With infacol I saw a video where it takes effect 30 mins later but essentially works by causing all the little gas bubbles to form one big bubble- so if that one bubble doesn’t come out it causes more pain My little boy can’t have it it makes his reflux much worse He’s 10 weeks old and has had silent reflux since around 3/4 weeks we’re on gaviscon infant for it x
Thank you ladies. I'm not really sure I understand what reflux is as I was under the impression it's essentially just throwing up 🤦🏻♀️ doctor didn't really say much more. Just that it was reflux. We do all the leg movements under the sun 😅 best relief so far is a hot bath which she turns into a jacuzzi. Just want to give her a break from straining so much 😥
Colief worked much better for my boy. Quite expensive but he is a completely different baby with it. And the exercises like bicycle legs, i figured out you have to spend some time doing it for it to be effective 😅
Doctor said I can't use colief because it can't be administered directly into the mouth and my little girl is breastfed. Tried dentinox tonight and she's screaming worse than she ever has before 🥲
Oh that’s strange, because i breastfeed too and the instruction manual says to express some milk in a spoon and mix 4 drops of colief in it and give it to the baby. After that, breastfeed as normal. Yes, you can’t feed the drops directly. And if using pumped milk, 4 drops into the bottle.
@Amna I was just going by what the doctor said but I might have to try that! Thank you 🫶🏻
I’d suggest giving your HV a call and seeing if she can give you a visit, especially if this is how she is like this constantly as your HV will be able to see her like it and make a suggestion. Mine told me any of the types of medication are all trial by error but also you have to use them consistently for a while to see results, she also offered to fight our corner with the GP if we needed and honestly doesn’t sound like yours was very helpful. A bath definitely will help her! Mine suggested going above the fill line so they can kick more, she also suggested we did a food and reflux diary, so with every feed or with a bad bout of reflux I made a note of the time and any symptoms/ wind/ reflux on my phone so I knew exactly when and could go back to it to try and see if there was a cause - that’s how we knew my LB can’t have infacol x
I found rubbing her tummy after some infocol really helped x
