Please give me your thoughts

My son is 2 years old and I’m really worried about if this is normal or should I be concerned. He has 42 words he can say but they all are not used everyday. 🥺

My sons cousin did this when he was two. Very normal. Some kids just do it.

Not sure. I know my daughter still jargons but she uses more words now. She had to do speech therapy for a few months to catch up. I say reach out to early intervention before he ages out

Sounds to me like he just wants to talk a lot but can't say all the words quite yet! By 2 years old, most children can say around 50 words, although their pronunciation may not be perfect. They should also be able to put two words together in simple phrases, such as "more juice" or "want truck".

If you're concerned, talk with your pediatrician. I'm in Michigan and when my daughter had a speech delay her pediatrician connected us with a program called Early On where a speech therapist would come to our home 2x/month to work with our daughter and teach us tools/things we could do to encourage her to talk. We also watch A LOT of Ms. Rachel

He is fine. Every kid is different..My son has a stutter all through early grade school and he is 13 years old now no more speech problems, aspiring guitar singer artist on You Tube. All his idea 😂

Yup, mine does it too-LOL it’s normal. They’re still developing language.. and they desire to communicate (…by any means necessary-lol) so there will still some baby babble in there until they get to school age and communicate more frequently.

I would put him in speech. I put my son in speech when he turned 1. He still babbles like this, but he also has the words to communicate. Is he exposed to more than 1 language?

Also, I think I heard in the video that you repeated "wah wah" I think he was referring to water? Am I correct? You can still use the sing songy voice, but try only repeating the correct way to say the words that he's trying to say. And say all words correctly. It also helped to say short phrases vs long sentences when trying to get him to repeat or understand something. Speech helped me learn how to talk to my son so that I carry that into every day. Good luck!

My son was born on the same month and he does the same.

I’d say it’s normal. My 2 yr old daughter does this at times when she’s trying to talk a lot but she does use a lot of words together we understand clearly. Next pediatrician visit prob show the video if your concerned. But I think it’s fine mama.
