Progestogen only (mini pill)

Hi! Has anyone else who is also on the progestogen only / mini pill had a similar experience ? Before having my baby i didn’t get a period at all on the pill but now after baby i have gone back on the same pill and am getting periods from 3 months pp? Obviously not end of the world but i did like not having a period 😂

I really struggled with the mini pill when I went back on it after having my first. I bled every other week. After 6 months I had the mirena coil fitted instead, which did stop my periods but I had to have it removed after 18 months due to issues. I then went back onto the mini pill at nearly 3 years postpartum and had no issues at all. I think it's just the hormone change after giving birth

@Chelsey Yeah i’m hoping it’s just hormones etc and give it a bit longer it might settle off again!!

Yeah I’ve gone back onto the mini pill and never had periods before I got pregnant and now I’m having 2 a month. I went to the doctors after 3 months on it and she said you shouldn’t be having irregular periods on them and to try a different brand. So maybe trying a different brand of the pill might work? Xx

@Ella ahh yeah maybe could be worth a try, which one did you swap to ? is it one that you take continuously?

Yeah I just take it everyday. I can’t remember the brand the one I used to take and now taking is in a purple packet and the one which gave me irregular periods is in a pink packet xx

@Nicole I’m still get to see if it works or not as I’ve only been taking it a few days x
