Broken speech
My 4 year old was an early talker and has always been good with learning new words and understanding us.
I have noticed that his sentences are broken when he is trying to explain something and using longer sentences.
Sometimes he repeats the same word a few times before he can carry on with the sentence.
Anyone else’s 4 year old does this? Should I get him checked out?

@Amy it’s exactly like a strutter and the more excited he is to explain something the more it happens. Hopefully it’s another developmental phase and they will grow out of it.

Not sure if it’s normal or not, but mine also does this. Almost like a stutter. I just tell her to take her time and she gets there eventually. It’s like her brain needs to slow down she’s trying to get it all out at once
