Ive been in your shoes many times and done the exact same. My little girl goes to forest school and comes home absolutely gross most days - but sometimes she is just so exhausted she needs sleep as soon as possible so we skip the bath and have a flannel wash instead, which she also fights but its over quickly.
Done this. Not brushing teeth, no shower... Yes yes, bad bad mum. But honestly, with the change of weather, the endless Scottish daytime with sun even at 9pm, he's so tired and grumpy it's a miracle we do any of those things. It's not a habit, we usually do brush 2 times a day, but if it's once in a while and I can put him more gently to bed am I really doing something so bad? The more upset he's when going to bed the more he will fight sleep and will sleep badly. Choose your battles
Don't feel bad, I've done it plenty of times, either as she's already fallen asleep or because I can't handle the meltdown. If dad thinks she should have had a shower he could have took over
Don’t feel bad I’ve done this lots of times when she’s too tired to function and it’s better to get her to bed asap then get her in the bath. Theres always the next evening for a bath and a wipe down with the flannel in the morning if needs be!
