Baby slings

What slings is everyone using? I’m torn between a classic buckle style or a stretchy wrap style for caring my baby. Desperately need to buy one now as baby 7weeks and he is a little Velcro baby 😂 can’t do anything.

Stretchy wrap at that age and then a buckle from around 3/4 months onwards x

I used a stretchy wrap until my girl was about 3 months old and weighed enough for the buckle carrier.

I used a mix of buckle style, wrap and ring sling depending on what I was doing. If using a buckle style sling, be sure to make sure that it’s ok for newborn :) And be sure to make sure that baby is in the correct position. There is a great group on Facebook with professionals and experienced baby wearers who are knowledgable and very helpful - Babywearing UK

Please be careful alot of products are advertised as safe for newborns but not I recommend going to a sling library

@Hannah thanks I have found one nearest to me not too far. I will have a look.

Ergobaby embrace is perfect for that age. Soft and supple but a little bit of structure too which makes it user friendly. I got this from my sling library and never looked back until she was about seven months old and needed something for a larger baby.

Same as Donna

I’m selling my ergo baby carrier 360 air if you message me x

we've used a buckle one (tula explore) mainly. it was suitable from 3ish kg but we didn't use it until a bit later as even though she was above the weight requirement, her little legs didn't seem to want to go in the right position until she was a bit bigger. we've used it every day since she was about 3 weeks old though!

Both! I use both just depends on what I’m doing/ where I’m going and I love both equally! I have a momcozy wrap and a Lillie baby carrier!

@Lauren I agree with Lauren. I had a wrap but it’s faffy, the ergo baby is so easy and my 7 week old loves it xxx

@Jade no problem also be careful of fake baby carrier being sold second hand

The stretchy wraps are ok when they’re little and light weight but they have no back support. I only used the stretchy wrap with my son until he was like 8 weeks. Then I switched to the Ergobaby carrier which has great back support.

My baby is 8mo & I prefer the stretchy wrap! If I’m putting her to nap outside I’ll use the buckle wrap though bc it’s too warm to be covered up
