Reusable nappies

Anyone else using reusable nappies? Feeling quite isolated (but very determined) to use them. Joined a few FB groups but they are very large and overwhelming.

I used reusables for my first and plan on using them for my second!

@Zoe any washing and drying recommendations? There seem so many different washing guides, I just want to find a way that will work! Did you manage to use them from birth? We have been advised to wait approx 6 weeks

I’m hoping to use them, but completely overwhelmed by how to choose the right ones, especially when the initial cost is quite high!

@Ellen yes! There are so mamh choices! We bought 18 second hand ones from FB marketplace to get us started after my sister recommended a brand but it can still be quite overwhelming!

@Jennifer wash them minimum every 2 days and max every 3 days. When soiled store then in a dry bucket or large nappy wet bag. You can use reusable liners which I found much better than disposable ones. Drying them is harder in the winter months but fantastic in the summer, some people use a dehumidifier during winter months to help with drying! It also depends on what brand you have gone for as some are very particular. We used them from around 5 months but hope to use some from birth this time! I've seen people using them in the hospital from birth! But don't put pressure on yourself just remember every nappy you have used has saved so many others going to landfill!

Yes! We are hoping to use reusable at least part of the time - we bought someone’s stash from FB marketplace, I read that Bambino’s tend to suit most babies so went with a stash that had those in… fingers crossed it pays off 🤣

I plan to for my little one when she’s here ☺️ I’ve also joined some Facebook groups. I have bought nearly all of mine second hand.

@Sophy we used some Bambino mios too. They worked well for my little one she wasn't a big wetter though so that helped new also love Baba and boo. They are selling anymore sadly but you can get plenty new and secondhand on many sites!
