Hey! I’m a pediatric sleep consultant and you can definitely skip the bath portion of the night routine and add it in whenever you choose to. The main thing is just being consistent with whatever you choose to do as a bedtime routine and it’ll become their cues for sleep. Baths can just be really relaxing for most babies so that’s why it’s suggested as a good sleepy cue. 😊
I have an 11 week old and an almost 3 year old. I give the baby a bath one evening, the toddler the next evening, and break the 3rd, then start over. Obviously if one of the boys gets extra dirty, I'll change it up and bathe them sooner, but this keeps it balanced for me. I try to avoid bathing daily as it can get hard on their skin. But having the baths on separate nights makes it easier for me to manage.
You do what works for you! 🥰 With our first we were set on routines and thought that really helped, however life with a newborn and toddler in tow doesn’t always work out as simply and easy as everyone thinks. Our second is 4 months old and we have no set routine at all for him. If I’m honest I don’t think we will for a while, he’s happy just slotting in with our toddlers routine and that works for us all x
