@Christine 😂😂 your right about that!!
This is my son too. I am baffled at the things he knows but equally baffled when he does dumb ish 🤣 to the point I’ve at times been worried about autism. The really high functioning one where they’re super smart? Probably all normal toddler stuff but I’m not going to lie and say it hasn’t crossed my mind.
Literally this 😭 She does all this, can tell me that three sixes makes 18, been fully potty trained for months, but can find the remote that I'm literally pointing to 😒😂 I really think it's just their way of reminding us that they are still only 2 years old, despite how much they know, they're still just babies learning thr world
Children this young have no impulse control. They can be taught to fear things but if you are going for a more gentle natural consequences approach it can lead to giving into impulses until the natural consequence teaches you what will happen in that specific situation. My son has full blown conversations, knows the whole alphabet, we haven’t practiced to count to 50 yet but he does to 20 since that’s as far as any of his shows go. He elopes because he has adhd so an even lower impulse control. On our walks I ask him if he sees any moving cars and he says no and tries to cross the street without looking every time despite repetitive practice. We just get more extreme in stopping and looking in all 4 directions at every single intersection and don’t move if any cars are moving towards our direction (even if they aren’t turning onto the street we are crossing). Repetition and good safety habits are all you can do to work on that and expect to not see a ton of progress until at least 4.
First half stuff - very cool good for her! Second half stuff - yeah that’s normal. Testing boundaries and such. Unfortunately nothing teaches you that fire is hot like touching it 😂😂 apparently you don’t get to avoid the dumb toddler stuff just because she’s a genius lol.
