Hi! I'm a state licensed childcare provider and I have used care.com to look for jobs in the past and they do have a background check they use, you can also call 211 info line they have a list of licensed childcare providers in your area and their availability. Good luck with your search!
Thanks ladies!! Literary gold!!! Much appreciated
I am a nanny and have been nannying for the past four years. I have never personally looked for somebody to watch my daughter, as I bring her with me. However, I would definitely ask questions about how they handle situations with big emotions, if they believe in timeouts, stuff that you as a parent don’t or possibly do agree with. Make sure they are CPR certified. I would also make sure that they have a clean, driving record, and that their car is safe and reliable to be driving around. Make sure that they are familiar with car seat laws and how to properly restrain a child. I would also make sure that they are on board with any specific dietary or allergy needs. I would ask them to come over and do a trial run so I can see how they interact with my children. And if it were me, I would have a nanny, Cam.
