I agree with Nancy, if it was bad they would have notified you.
Take a breath and try to relax if you can. There are simple things that may be causing it like stones. If it was urgent they would have told you to go to the hospital and sent the ER a fax with your results and a note about why they sent you (I'm an ER clerk, I'm the one that gets these faxes and phone calls all the time from offices). They're doing a recheck in a few days because labs can sometimes be off for many reasons. It's possible you were a little dehydrated when you did them. Sometimes, samples sit a little too long, and it skews the results a bit. Especially because aside from itching and not feeling great, you don't have any worrying signs, it's quite possible it's something simple like a stone you haven't felt yet or your labs were a little off. It's also technically possible that your kidneys have always worked at 55%, and this is just the first time it's been noticed/checked. Keep up with the water and wait for the retest
I’ve had kidney stones when I was a teenager so if it’s something related to that I would agree with the above advice and also add to avoid very salty foods. Lots of water and a good balanced diet, wait for the retest and see what they suggest as next steps. You will be fine 🫶
Try to not think of the worst before hearing from them. Some simple and easy fixes (blocking kidney stones) could be the cause of messing with kidney function. Do what you’re already doing and stay hydrated and see what they say when the office reopens. If it was critical then they would have told you to go to the hospital. ❤️
