Both my babies have had dairy issues, the first also with soy. I tried to be pretty strict about it last time, but got confused and frustrated with the dairy ladders. My first was not a big solid food eater at 9-10 months when I was ready to try the ladder, and I could not get her to eat the quantities they wanted consistently. Her at home daycare provider tried to work with me on the dairy free foods, but she accidentally gave her buttermilk pancakes around 10 or 11 months and at that point I just went rogue and started eating dairy and both of us were fine. Personally I wouldn’t risk it at this point, but you are the one observing your baby every day. She might not be as intolerant as other babies. Oh the other hand, it builds in their system. So she might seem ok the first time or two, but as her gut gets inflamed, symptoms may show up or get worse. It’s hard, big hugs. I liked MOD Pizza, and would skip cheese and load up on other toppings. There are more vegan cheese options now
@Thais I’m hoping one night won’t be too terrible. I also eat butter I haven’t cut that out at all so maybe her allergy is more mild? We haven’t done an actual test just had the pediatrician speculate.
@Andra Thank you. I honestly haven’t had that hard of a time keeping things like milk, cream, and cheese out of my diet but I cooked for 30 people tonight and I just want an easy break lol. My husband is also craving pizza. My pediatrician told me butter should be fine which is why I kept it in my diet, but I don’t eat much of it anyways unless in baked goods.
My first baby had that and she outgrew it around 13 months. I did the dairy free diet (also called the love diet in Spanish) for like 10 months and then started her on hypoallergenic formula the last months before she outgrew it. It was really tough for me but really, one time you eat, then it starts all over and it takes 8 weeks for your body to detox and baby too. I recommend you to join the dairy free Facebook group! They helped me so much to understand the detox process and understand that it takes time for baby to start feeling better. You could be sure of it if the pediatrician tests the poopy diaper. It literally takes 5 minutes. Then you can decide if you go dairy free or switch to formula. Fed is best and that applies to mama too. I was miserable being dairy free but I’d do it again for my babies. I did as much as I could and then switched to formula for my mental health. I’ll leave the Facebook group link! Hope it helps 💜

I stopped drinking milk and eating pizza in my diet because my daughter was getting eczema on her back and it helped
My son has the same allergy. We only found out about it bc his poop was also mucusy, never any blood and he was never really fussy. A couple of weeks ago I ordered fried rice and forgot that they cooked it with butter and then the next day I found blood in his poop. His pediatrician told me to not give him the milk I pumped for the next 2 weeks so the milk could clear out of my system. They retested him for the allergy and it still came back positive. Although when we found out about the allergy I didn’t stop giving him my milk. The pediatrician also told me to slowly start giving him my old milk so he can start getting used to it and possibly outgrow the allergy. I wouldn’t worry too much about it since you have been eating some things with milk in them and she hasn’t been fussy or had any blood in her poop. His poop is sometimes mucusy as well but he’s ok. He’s only 3 months but they say they should outgrow it by 6 months to a year.
