Sign language

My son is understanding and doing signs more and more and it’s becoming more useful in our daily lives. I’m looking for more to help with big feelings, and also general everyday words. He knows milk, help, more, eat, and all done. What else could I add?

Add any word! It’s as simple as looking up a sign on google. My daughter is deaf but she has cochlear implants and we sign as much as we can to her. It’s amazing to teach sign not only for your baby but for those around him or her who communicate through sign 🥰

@Maddalyn oh wow. How has that been I havnt talked to anyone with deaf children before just the people you see on YouTube. Was she born deaf? Do you have any deaf family members or was this a total surprise?

@Gabrielle She was born deaf, she was born with Congenital CMV, which is a virus that is very common but if you get it while pregnant, it can impose complications on the baby. We are so thankful that the virus only took her hearing and she has no other symptoms. I actually took ASL in school and so did my fiancé‘s mom so it kind of worked out good but we decided to get her implanted with cochlear implants so she has the option of speaking or signing. We wouldn’t want her any other way. She’s absolutely perfect.

She really loves to sign so we try to sign as much as possible!

Oh wow that’s great that you studied it in school and I’m so glad she’s okay!

My little guy just learned “open” and it’s been surprisingly useful!
