No, the dates they’ll go by is what you’re measuring on your scan
Early scans can be off with dates as a mm can be a weeks growth at such early gestation and it depends how baby is laying. The 12 week scan will determine your EDD based on measurements, then it won’t change again
Forgot to say this was a private scan so nhs won’t know this info unless I tell them so I’m guessing they won’t take my word for it and just continue with me being ‘8weeks’ until the nhs 12 week scan?!
Yes NHS will continue to go by date of your last period until your dating scan at 12ish weeks. Then they’ll take the date from that scan and change your gestation and due date if they need too x
@Lorna can I ask when you got a positive pregnancy test? I got one 9dpo from my dates but if I’m only actually 6 weeks I’m not sure how that makes sense? Or could it be that hgc was rising because of fertilisation but it took longer to implant? Struggling to understand 🤦🏻♀️
Mine was the same as well! Went for a scan thinking I was 8 weeks but was 6 😫 those 2 weeks feel like they make a big difference 🤣
Message me and I’ll work it out! Xxx
@Hannah have you had any further scans? The sonographer said it looked fine but 2 weeks difference has just stressed me out 🫣
I'm having another one tomorrow. I did speak to my midwife about it and she said its fine as well. She said its very common xx
@Hannah sounds reassuring from midwife. Have you chosen to have another private? I think I might book another private in a couple of weeks or I think I’m just going to stress till 12 weeks 😕 x
It's with the NHS I'm having an early scan with the early pregnancy unit because I keep spotting 🙏 ahh yes do it there will be a massive different baby will have grown loads, anything for reassurance xx
@Hannah all the best for your scan ♥️
Mine was the same!!!
