IUD removed and our dry spell is over!

I’m honestly not super sure why I’m sharing this, I’m just excited and maybe it’ll help someone else i guess. I have a 1 year old and got an iud at my 6 week appointment after having him. My husband and I haven’t had sex since shortly before my son was born. After IUD I’ve had literally zero interest whatsoever, well it’s been a little over a year with nothing, just got my IUD out this week, and we had sec again for the first time last night! 🎉 it’s nice to feel like I wasn’t the “problem” and it might have actually just been the iud heavily influencing my hormones and mental state.

It probably was! Birth control is terrible for your body. That's great news!

Same with any birth control I was ever on. When I was done having kids & had my tubes removed, no longer needing birth control, I was back to my old freaky self 😭🤣

Did you have the copper coil or hormonal coil? I’m assuming the latter? I was thinking of getting the copper one to avoid any hormonal impact but wanna know if it’s not great either x

@Darcy I had the hormonal. Mirena to be specific. I had the same kind before I had kids, but it was so dramatically different after having kids, my mindset has felt clearer since getting it removed, my sex drive actually exists 🤣, and I feel motivated to workout and get healthier. I wouldn’t recommend a hormone one, but also, with any birth control just really try to pay attention to how you’re feeling after and don’t be afraid to get it removed and try something else if it’s not working how you need. 🥰
