Wakefield health visitors

Is a health visitor supposed to visit before baby is born in Wakefield? When I had my first born, I had him in Barnsley hospital and was under the card of Barnsley midwives. A fee days after he was born, the midwife visiting my house asked When the health visitor was coming. And, I had no clue because no one had contacted me. When she rang Wakefield services (it was When they were in middle of changing their services to Harrogate or sonething) we had a right chew getting in contact with them. When we finally did, they had no idea I had been pregnant or had a baby. Barnsley midwives maintained that they had told them, Wakefield said they hadn't. I am due with my second tomorrow and don't want a repeat of last time where I had to chase them to visit. We have everything set up for baby (safe sleep etc) so I don't know if they're supposed to visit before baby is born - has anyone else had this happen to them ? Should I have had contact with them before baby is born with it being my second?

Hey! I’ve just had my second baby in the Wakefield district, and we didn’t have our HV come before he was born. They did with our first, but we only received a letter with our second to say they were aware I was pregnant and would arrange a visit following his birth. Have you got the number for the HV team? I’d maybe just give them a ring and double check you’re on their records. I hope everything goes okay with baby, good luck!😊

My sister had a health visitor come before to just look around the house and do a check everything was sorted, I had mine sorted but moved at the same time so no one came to check mine but didn’t take long and just ask if she was ready for baby to come, she received a letter with a date for them to come out x

I haven't had a letter for me or my second at all so assuming they don't have me on records. My first has had all his visits and letters- this was once he was registered. Thank you both, I've emailed them using the email contact from websites and those I had when I had to contact them about my first born not being registered.

My second is four months and the health visitor came before he was due they wanted to come a few months before but couldn’t because of work, he ended up being premature so came before the appointment and I was surprised she even insisted on seeing our bedroom and where he would be sleeping as this never happened with our first and it was a phone call but it was the pandemic x
