My almost 4 year old doesn’t listen at all

I’m going through the same thing she talks back and whines over everythingggg. We room share so I can’t just send her to her room I put her in the corner and she has to sit and calm down before she can get out and we can talk. She has such big feelings that she just doesn’t know how to handle. I got some advice from another mom saying to get her to name her feelings “I’m feeling frustrated because…” half the time she just comes up with something that doesn’t make any sense but I validate her feelings explain to her why she needs to eat her dinner or pick her toys up etc and then we try again. So much of it is really just their age they’re going to rest the limits it’s our job to set the expectations and boundaries and stick to them. I found another thing that really helped was setting “rules” and when she doesn’t follow them there are consequences

I’ve also heard from soo many moms swearing by cutting out food dyes that you’ll see a drastic change within weeks but idk from experience I haven’t tried. Everyone tells me just hang in there and keep firm boundaries and you’ll get through it.
