Inconsolable crying

My 11 week old has been screaming all day today to the point I'm crying alongside her as I feel so helpless. She has been fed (but cries and thrashing the whole way through) , changed, burped (but she is a nightmare to burp) and is passing wind, changed so she's not too hot or cold. And I've been shoogling her and trying to comfort her. She just screams and puts her hands in her mouth for comfort ( does have a dummy too but she's just discovered her hands and they've been jn the mouth 24/7 lately). Her temp is fine at 36.2 She does suffer reflux and on anti reflux powder formula, but I'm guessing she could be constipated but nothings helping. I done bike legs, small massage etc I do have laxido but I know it's not fast acting. I can't bear to see her in so much pain. Does anyone have any tips?

My LG did this 2 weeks ago, shes usually a very content happy baby so it was very off, I called my HV and she told me to give her a bit of calpol, the same amount she had for her first jabs and she seemed to calm down after half hour then she could relax and sleep so Im guessing she had some kind of ache and the calpol helped

Ive been in the exact same boat this evening! We are wondering if it’s teething, as dummy and boob weren’t soothing him at all for once, he wouldn’t even take them which is unheard of, but would gnaw on his hands or a teether non stop and scream if they left his month for a second (i guess boob and dummy you suck whereas teether you chew). We ended up giving a dose of calpol as he seemed to be in pain screaming for hours and now he seems ok. Praying its not teething just yet but could be and same for you maybe? Ours also has reflux and is on omeprazole however we forgot to give it to him today so only other possibility we can think of is painful acid!?

When my daughter was colicky and constipated, we found that a bath helped soothe her. I hope your little one settles soon xx

Was she prescribed the reflux stuff? My little girl was but they prescribed alongside laxatives as they said it'll cause constipation. I think it's known to gps that babies will struggle with the reflux meds so you're helping one problem whilst another is created. My little girl screamed more or less daily from 2weeks old to 8 weeks old. She's now on hypoallergenic mill awaiting paediatric dietician appointment to check for cows milk protein allergy. It's so so heartbreaking having a baby that's crying inconsolably. I'm sorry you've had a day like that today and hope your little one finds relief x

@Liv (previously Peanut) we are in the exact same boat. I've given some Calpol this evening, but the last two nights she's been up every hour screaming and screams the moment my nipple leaves her mouth - almost like that's her comfort for her gums. Hope your little boy starts feeling better soon! X

My little boy used to be exactly like this, he was a nightmare feeding and his latch was terrible. GP tried to diagnose reflux but I just knew there had to be a cause. I had an oral assesment done and it turned out he had a rather severe tongue tie. This was causing him pain when drinking and mainly causing him to take too much air in which was causing the thrashing around. If it continues I’d highly recommend having an oral assesment done just to rule that out! He had his snipped and omg he’s just a dream boy now! Sending love & hope things get easier for you! xxx
