Typically, unless you’re high risk they usually schedule you somewhere between 6 weeks to 12 week. Depends on the dr office. I’m high risk, so the minute I find out (4-5weeks) my doctor has me in and doing blood work.
I am 6+3 and I don't have my 1st ultrasound till early June, which feels odd as well.
Yeah it's frustrating when you want to be seen sooner and they say 8-10 weeks is when the first scan will be. If you work with a midwife they will see you sooner upon request. I bet some doctors are flexible too. I'd try to be pushy. As a female bodied person navigating the medical system, sometimes you gotta be pushy! Good luck :)
I just scheduled my first appointment today and they’re so booked out it’s not until July 14 🥲 meaning I’ll be 14 weeks along. With my first pregnancy I was scheduled to be seen at 6 weeks and I thought that was the norm
Its normal but also I wanted to be seen sooner too, my pregnancy confirmation was on May 30th but I kept calling my dr and they said they always have cancelations and she set me for the 15th, i had light bleeding only dark brown , called yesterday and they had an opening for 3pm ! I went right over and got my confirmation done speeding up when I can have my first actual appointment. Always good to keep asking ! Good luck to you and your love bug ❤️ 😊
Yes, this was shocking for me with my first baby! My OB wanted to see me between week 11-12 and I had first ultrasound and all that. I live in CA and I’m from Europe so I was shocked (over there there is ultrasound on every visit if wanted). In CA I had total 2 ultrasounds- one week 11/12 and second week 20.
Find a new doctor
If you look up pregnancy resource center it will pull up a bunch of clinics that will do an ultrasound for you , usually at 6 weeks to confirm that your baby is okay ❤️ That’s what I am doing because I can’t wait that long for an ultrasound, I need to know if my little penut is doing okay ❤️
Where do you live ? In my state they offer pregnancy clinics where you can confirm baby is okay at like 6 weeks! I would check your area !
