Childcare help

I'm due to return to work in September from maternity leave and my husband is going on a 6 month tour at the same time. I've got a nursery for my baby but I've just applied for a job that's four days a week and so my baby will be in nursery for more than the 30 hours government funded childcare. Is there any financial/childcare support I can get while my husband is away?

Have you also looked into tax free childcare?xx

@Kayleigh do I apply for that at the same time as 15/30 hour funding? Xx

Yes you can get the tax free on top of the free hours. It’s just for the hours you pay for! Depending on where you are, there are some nurseries close by / op bases that offer military discount so worth checking out. You can always ask your husband to speak to someone on the base (can ask my husband later what hes called) and they can help you with lots of deals as well as you won’t be the only one struggling with this 😊

Yeah it should give you both when applying as long as you and your partner both earn minimum wage - that will give you a further 20% off on top xx
