KIT days

I just did my first KIT day and it was disastrous. I work in an office and I just thought stuff would be ready for me like when we have new staff start we have the whole desk set up ready. But I go in today I’ve got my laptop on my desk and nothing else and neither my manager or my supervisor are there. And turns out my laptop hasn’t been updated so had to be with IT for most the day. I just wish I went home after an hour. At least my LO had a lovely day with her Nanna and they are both excited for the next KIT day. Anyone else had a bad start with returning to work?

Yes! Walked in, tipped my lunch everywhere in the first five minutes, thrown back in the deep end with marking/teaching (despite my brain being in mummy mode) and then broke down trying to leave (the car not me)😂😂 hoping it’ll get better.

Yes they never even asked me if I was breastfeeding and they keep giving me work like I'm in full time 🙄

Oh wow at least they didn’t expect me to do any real work and had left me a note to say just to try and get onto my laptop and reset my passwords. They have given me a call to ask how it went and to say thanks for getting IT to come to our office and fix couple other issues that people had been waiting over a week for. 😅

The company I work for went through an acquisition while I was gone so there are all new systems for everything. My first kit day I went in and couldn't even log in, apparently I had been deleted from the system because I hadn't migrated my laptop by the deadline 🙃. To be honest I didn't mind spending all day in the phone to IT, it meant I didn't have to do any hard work 🤣
