Car dilemma

We are looking to buy a new car and need some advice. I have a one year old and one on the way. So two car seats needed. Should we get a 5 seater or 7 seater in terms of practicality. If we have two car seats at the back I would like to sit with babies but sitting between two car seats is that possible/practical? Bringing the one year old forward is abit dangerous. Any advice

We have an 18 month old and a 9 week old so have two bulky car seats in the back and have an MG HS (5 seater) and I fit comfortably in the middle between the two car seats! Xx

You could put your eldest in the front? Making sure you turn off airbags and rear facing so you can sit in the back with your newborn?

Thank you. So I guess it depends on the car and how spacious it is

@Lucy I did think of this. But husband isn’t keen

@Khadijeh Ahh! When I drive with both girls I have my newborn in the front and eldest in the back x

Check the width of car seats, they vary massively and that can affect if the seats can go together so you can sit on the side

We currently have a Kia sportage, toddler is in the front because my partner is 6ft 3 and has to have his seat far back so I’m squished behind him and our baby is in the back behind our toddler😂 but we’re getting the Skoda kodiaq which is a 7 seater but both kids are going in the back and I’m going in the front. If you want to sit in the back with them you’ll need a car with 3 full back seats or else you won’t fit xx
