Posterior tongue tie and BF
Hi all,
How long do your little ones usually feed for? My LO has a posterior tongue tie and we're trying to keep BF going until her appointment (when she will be 8 weeks old!!) but at the moment she feeds for around 1.5hrs every 2-3 hours and it's so draining 🫠 we've been combi feeding but wondered if this is normal even without a tongue tie or whether feeds are likely to be quicker? I have no time to shower, go to the loo as I've just got a baby on me all the time and I'm going insane 😅
We also have a little one with a posterior tongue tie, hopefully being cut Tuesday when he will be just over 5 weeks old but we have the opposite problem in that he won’t feed for long (usually only a few mins on each side) and I’m not sure he’s really getting much, we have to top up with expressed milk so understand the draining part as I’m constantly holding/ feeding little one then pumping after and cleaning the pump/bottles. I’m really hoping this appointment makes difference to his feeding as I’m not sure what else to do otherwise
