Taking a binky

Any advice on how I can get my baby to take a binky? I have almost every type of binky you can buy and she won’t take any of them, but I would really like her too.

My son is the same way! He had a tongue tie that we got cut at one week. He still latches funny but my nipples arent sore anymore lol so I think his issue is he doesn’t suck and grab onto it well enough as it pops out of his mouth so quickly. Some babies judt don’t need to suck all the time. Why do you want her to use one? They are so hard to take away as my 5 year old always had his paci and then just at nap and bed. It took us forever bc he had hidden them in places haha and would be right back addicted to them after working for a week or two not having it. If this baby won’t take one after I keep offering every so often then I’ll just accept he’s not a paci baby who needs to suck. He does like my nipple for comfort sometimes so idk just my two cents lol

@Kira the biggest reason is to reduce the ricks of SIDS. And she does suckle at my nipple and it doesn’t feel the best. Her latched isn’t to great so it make my nipple very sore and hurt to feed her. I want to reduce how often she pacifies at my nipples. My son has a binky and we took it away at 18 months and even though all babies are different it wasn’t too hard. There’s also certain things she hates, like her car seat that I feel like a pacifier could provide her comfort in! Thank you so much for advice! I probably will try every once in a while for another months or so and if at that point she still won’t take one I will accept she won’t take one haha

Omg my 7 week old hates the car seat! Getting buckled in all tight. He likes when we are moving alright but will wake so stop and go traffic is a huge no no if we can avoid it. Well breast feeding for the first 2 months cuts sids in half! I co sleep but safely and have with all my kids but the first. He wanted to be in his own space all the time lol but yeah I know they say it helps reduce sids sucking a pacifier. But yeah mine judt won’t take it!

Ugh my first some LOVES his binky and it saves us when we just need him to pipe the eff down Our second (March 2025 baby) refuses all binkys… we’ve tried like 8 different kinds. It’s soo painful. I brought it up with our peds and she says some babies just refuse to take one… whether it be tongue tie or the plastic or just not interested… she said there’s nothing we can really do 😅
