@Morgan mostly hand flaps/jumps when excited. Humming/singing. He does like to chase his brother back and forth but dont really think thats a stim but he does like to spin from time to time but its not like a super fast spin and its mostly when he is bored or hasnt gotten to go outside and release his energy lol
Yes, but I have an autistic daughter. Some things you’re saying are autistic like but also just toddler things. It’s hard to differentiate.
Kids this age dig sensory experiences, so it could just be a fun sensation. Keep being a great mom and keep an eye. If he’s not delayed or struggling, especially socializing I wouldn’t worry.
@Morgan He doesnt stim when we are doing stuff and he is very social and plays well with other kids, he makes eye contact, he just has ALOT of energy and I think stimming releases it. He doesnt like stim when he gets overwhelmed if that makes since
@Morgan yes he will socialize, he is still learning to talk fully so he does also repeat stuff like mommy 10 times before he says what he wants but the doctor says he thinks its normal since he is still learning to communicate and talk back and forth! He knows his abcs, colors, numbers, if I think anything I felt it would be adhd but i know thats something you can diagnose till later and autism and adhd over lap alot!
@Kendra yes it really is! Im thinking if its anything it might be adhd but I know autism and adhd are alot alike!
@Kendra but his doctor said he doesnt think its either and its just toddler stuff
They are. Autism shows differently. If it’s more ADHD, they can’t diagnose that until much later because it’s hard to tell if it’s normal developmental behavior as well.
My daughter isn’t autistic but does stim. She tends to throw things, pull her hair out, and run around in big circles.
What does he do? There are different kinds of Stimming. Kids this age are picky eaters… it’s pretty normal
