Is it worth getting a travel pram?

Hey all, I’m in two minds. I have a travel system pram right now and the seat part can fold down with the pram. We’re travelling at the end of July/beginning of August so I was just going to take this pram and put it in a bag and check it in. Now I’m wondering if it makes sense/be better to get a travel pram instead as the pram we that I would be taking is our main pram. Has anyone just taken their main pram or is it worth it getting a travel pram? I just don’t want to get a travel pram and then it becomes our main pram because I love this pram! 😅

How often do you go away? We did a hire for our first trip because we just didn’t know what we’d need etc. and didn’t want to take our main pram in case it got lost or damaged and it worked out well x

I just got a stroller, kinderkraft siesta and I use it at home quite abit now too! I’ve had no issues abroad with it, very sturdy 🤗 I couldn’t justify buying an actual travel pram when they just get thrown around, sand, food, water etc all over it x

@Jess once or twice a year. This year we’re going twice my LB will be 7 months when we go in summer and then 11 months towards the end of the year. That’s a good idea!! Where did you hire the pram from if you don’t mind me asking?

@Ellie I have been having a look at the kinderkraft strollers and yeah that’s what I’m worried about happening too 😂

We did https://tinyexplorers.co.uk/ and got the Doona as we knew we needed a car seat for transfers but didn’t want to take the extra item!

The siesta hood is quite long and I like the bumper bar. We have no issues with ours, taking it again this year - it’s not too heavy / bulky Ive never taken a car seat either just put LO on my knee

We took our main pram the first few trips and it's just so heavy it became hard work. So we got ourselves the silver cross clic and it's so light and convenient. Folds down really small, so you can tuck it out the way on buses or in small restaurants and stuff wherever you go. Our travel pram lives in our car now and we use it when we're out and about that way. We still use our main pram for day to day walks and things from home too. But yeh I thought the same as you for a while and now I am very pro travel pram xx

Hello! 👋 you can also rent travel prams, the Doona and other holiday bits with Thursday’s Child ☺️ x Thursdays-child.co.uk

We got the Joolz Aer+ for flights but ended up using it as our main pram too! I also liked my travel system until I realised how easy life was with a travel stroller 😂

We picked up a pram going free on marketplace to be our holiday/travel pram. We paid too much for our main pram to have it beaten up in hold 😂 Needed a good clean as it had been left on what was basically a construction site but it worked really well. It wasn't as nice to push/manoeuvre as our main one but for once or twice a year it does the job. But bulky as its not a travel pram, it's the icandy orange, but we got a pram gate check bag to keep it clean.

I used our Nuna the first time I travelled with my LO and checked in. Then I’ve decided to buy a Jooltz Aer+ as I was travelling A LOT on my own with my Son and found a lot easier so I could keep him in the pram. To be fair I use my travel pram even in London when I need to get tube and all because is a lot lighter, super handy. I think mainly it depends how much you travel. In my case was a great investment of money.

Look at Facebook Market place. We got a n umbrella folding/travel pram. You can take it to the gate with you then they put it in the under luggage part and you collect at luggage collection (sometimes the separate oversized luggage). Much better than the main pram due to size but also didn't want my expensive day 2 day pram to be chucked all about.
