@Rebekah really? have you had any sickness or anything from not washing?? people are really against not washing the fruit and vegetables it’s the main thing my midwife tells me maybe I’m just overthinking it too much
Just give them a rinse under the tap and rub any areas that seem a bit grubby, don’t feel you need to be too excessive with it all. Or put everything in a big colander and in a bowl of water and rinse that way. I make a bowl of porridge in the morning or have a couple of weetabix (bonus points you can buy the protein ones!) and add a chopped banana, pear, apple and maybe a few blueberries, strawberries or raspberries. Then that’s my fruit portions done for the day! In the evening just steam some veggies with whatever I’m having for dinner. Even a bit of fruit and veg everyday is something and (tmi!) it’s stopped me from being constipated. ♥️
I just wash if it looks dirty like carrots or potatoes etc?
This is my second pregnancy and I've only ever washed fruit and veg that looks dirty, and I've never been sick or anything from not washing it.
I always have to wash my fruit, there was one time I was eating grapes and my legs hurt standing for too long so I couldn’t be bothered to wash them… I nearly put a cobweb in my mouth😩😭
I bought a spray online for it and then just quick rinse it.
I don’t wash my veg and have been fine, I sometimes wash berries if I remember but not always x
I wash it in a colander unless it’s being peeled. I washed it before I was pregnant anyway. My first “proper” job was in a greengrocers. There’s no way I’d put any produce in my mouth without at least giving it a wee rinse…
@Rebekah Same. Have literally never washed a single fruit my entire life (including 7.5 months of pregnancy 😅)
I don't 🤷♀️
