Car seat travel time

Might be a bit of a silly question but how long can a newborn travel in a car seat for? I have googled it but seen several different times. I basically need to drive to Peterborough which is about 2 hours on a good day but want to work out how many times I need to stop and get baby out of the car seat (excluding to obviously change them). Anyone got any ideas?

With a newborn it's advised no longer than 2hrs all in all but brokenndown into half hour slots to stop take them out briefly so they're in the right position and not head flopping stopping them breathing properly etc and you wouldn't want to be distracted on that sort of journey either x

Thanks. I read only 20 mins car journeys then I read longer but breaks every 45 mins. I will stop every 20-30 mins in addition to any other stops needed. Thanks x

This is what I was advised by HV as I was going a 1.45 hour drive to visit family. Stop every 30 mins for 10 get her out the car seat to stretch etc. So we did this. Now she’s 4 Months we do that journey without stopping x

Newborn is 30 minutes. After the first few months it’s no longer than 2 hours.
