Witch Hazel / After Care

Hi ladies, hoping for a natural delivery and I've packed large pads and disposable knickers in my hospital bag but nothing further for 'down there'. I keep seeing things like witch Hazel pads /peri bottles /cool packs listed on other's check lists - are any of these a must have? All the antenatal ones like Fridamom are so expensive so don't want to buy something I won't use Any brand /specific item recommendations would be appreciated

Spritz for bitz is supposed to be great, my friends kept it in the fridge once home too for extra numbing 🫣peri bottles are supposed to be good too especially if you end up with stitches x

I bought everything for down there spent about £150 mainly Frida mum and my expert midwife all I used was bog standard pads I have a episiotomy and tears. I wouldn’t bother tbh. Even disposable underwear I didn’t use them some granny pants and a big pad does the job

I wouldn’t bother, it’s all a gimmick. I had an episiotomy and just showered with plain water every morning to keep clean and clear of infection. I did have spritz for bits, but other than being cooling it did nothing.

The peri bottle was a godsend for me to use every time I went to the loo. I personally didn’t take it to hospital but I used it for a few weeks once I got home

I just pour some witch hazel on pads! So soothing!
