I couldn’t agree more! But he is walking when holding his hand, he’s 20 months old now and gaining independence it would be lovely to have a flexible sole but still steady enough to allow him to explore
If you are looking for shoes with flexibility (which we should ALL be wearing), then have a look at barefoot shoes. Me & my 2 boys wear barefoot shoes. They are wonderfully flexible and have a great wide toebox for toes to move and help with balance. If you are interested in exploring then Happy Little Soles website is a good place to start as they sell loads of different brands. Clarke’s are the best imo they measure them and give them a cute first shoes box, they’re always good quality and very easy for them to walk in x
Inch blue, dotty fish and bobux are great for flexible soles
He shouldn’t be wearing shoes until he’s been confidently walking for at least 6 weeks - shoes actually hinder the development of good healthy feet (this includes the pre walker shoes which are just a money grab). He can walk around and explore barefoot wherever you are. My girls are 4 and 2 now but we just went barefoot everywhere until at least 6 weeks after they were confidently walking xx
Asda have some lovely ones in on a budget. Think they only go up to 6s but they are generous with their sizing. But they're really wide as well. I found clarks weren't wide enough. Have a look up barefoot-brit on FB loads of suggestions there to suit all budgets. I've been barefoot myself for about 5 years. So much better for the feet health.

There's no need for shoes until they can walk, it's just a gimmick. So I'd save your money for when they do need them
