This is pretty normal sadly. We booked our daughter in when I was 7 months pregnant as sheās going when sheās 10 months old
The waiting lists are long. We had an issue with my daughter's childcare and had to move at short notice, went to Goldilocks at very short notice as they had a space and have been excellent šš»šš» busy bees also had spaces when we were looking. It's worth putting your name down on waiting lists. The hospital one said it'd not have spaces but actually did have a space in april. We chose not to take it as our daughter is settled and happy where she is now
This is normal now, the extra government funding is having an effect. I started looking for childcare for my son when he was 5 months old and didnāt have a lot of choice, and that was before the government introduced funding from 9 months old. I would suggest looking at childminders too to see if you can find one with space in September.
If it's a nursery linked to the hospital then yes they are notoriously hard to get a space at. The one attached to my hospital always has a waiting list. I contacted like 6 nurseries and only 1 had spaces. I contacted a month prior to needing it due to moving or I would have had it sorted sooner
@Amy this is my only issue I donāt drive so I canāt be going one side of town to then have to get to the other side of town for work hence why looking at the one at the hospital seemed to be my best option as Iām there for work anyway. Thankfully we have family who can look after him while we wait for a space but just got me abit down my first son was in nursery within a matter of weeks of me enquiring
