Again with SEN children, it takes so much for a diagnosis where they may need a 1:1 but where the nursery don’t have the funding they can’t provide that which again the needs aren’t met of the child and I find now with private nurseries they are more about the money than wellbeing of staff and children. Just pile the children in and hope for the best
I don’t think there’s anything bad with them, but I can only speak from personal experience. My LG goes three days per week and loves it. She’s running off to greet the staff at drop offs before we’ve even had chance to say goodbye 🙃 her staff are great and the nursery she goes to is great! I have no worries there at all. Of course I’m sure you get some nurseries that are not as good as others but then that’s down to you to check yours out and do your own research before sending your LO there. I feel my daughter gains so much from being there and I’m sure we’d know about it if there were issues going on behind the scene. I’d have no issue putting her in for extra days per week if we weren’t already paying over the odds for the 3 days she’s currently there 😅 x
Personally I’m not putting my daughter in nursery until she’s 3. Children don’t actually need to be ‘socialised’ until then - however I’d rather wait until she can speak properly. I’ve worked in early years my whole adult life, it can be anything from accidents to how much they’ve eaten in the day for example a child had 2 mouthfuls of food and then the staff member would put they’ve “ate all” when it’s not the case. Most nurseries are over ratio and will use “building ratio” therefore it’s not guaranteed that all of the children’s needs are being met. Sometimes again with the ratio, if there is more of a boisterous child, a quieter child may not be seen as much. The early years industry is so deprived in terms of pay, it results in staff not having a good wellbeing and where there are so many requirements from Ofsted, it can over shadow the needs of the child. I do see both sides of it, as I do also think children gain so much from being at nursery also.
