Becoming a childminder
Hey!
So yeah, I’m thinking of becoming a childminder as I’ve now got my Jan 2023 girl and a 7 month old. I’m due to start work again in September but I don’t think I’ll be able to afford to go back due to the nursery costs. Even with funding it’s going to cost me £440 a month and that’s only 2 days a week.
Has anyone done this and can share with me if they enjoyed it/ didn’t?
Thank you x
Hi I’m sorry to comment because I am from the USA. But I was a childminder a.k.a. child care provider back in 2017 to 2019 when Covid came I quit. At least over here. I know it was hard to find actual good teachers and people that really genuinely loved little children and learning and teaching and growing as a person.. But if you can find yourself loving it, I definitely ended up getting cheaper childcare through it and I eventually got free childcare as well. My advice would be do all the training classes they ask of you and do it in a timely manner and there’s always room to improve, progress and grow in a company, there are more certificates and training you can get. As well as higher pay after completion. There are even scholarships for schools that pay for their employees to seek higher education.
