Thank you @CeeCee. That’s really helpful. Top searches when I googled were mostly people saying they stopped when baby was 1 or 2, so I felt a bit mad thinking about one now. So it’s good to know you still find it helpful
I only stopped using one with my eldest at 3+ because I gave his one to the baby when he went into his own room. And now even though I don’t have one and he sleeps through mostly, I still get up to check on him 😂 Also, solidarity from another cot-for- a-couple-of-hours-then-bedsharing-because-can’t-be-dealing-with-getting-out-of-bed-that-much, mum! Promise it doesn’t last forever, even if it feels like it now!
Props to you for getting him in the cot at the start of the night. I can’t even get that far 😂🫠
We never had one until our kid was abouttt 11 months old She was in her own room from a few days before she was 6 months I never thought to get one tbh it was a gift we set it up and then just didnt rly look back I never check it. But her Dad will often have it open when hes just chilling HOWEVER - my kid has slept through and fallen asleep independently for a long long time so if i was used to her being w me i would likely need that comfort so deffo get one
Our little one has been in her own room since 6 months and even now she's 16.5 months we still use it. I can hear her during the night but when we are downstairs of an evening, we wouldn't be able to hear as she's the other side of the house so the monitor comes in handy x
Thank you all for sharing your experiences 💕 and for the bed sharing solidarity @Chloe and @Nat
I still have a baby monitor on my 3 year old also!
I have a monitor on my 1 and 2 year old! Don’t plan on stopping using it yet! My kids also still occasionally wake up at night so that’s mainly why I still use it
My daughter has been in her room since 7.5 months but Im still using it and dont plan to stop for a long time to be honest! I would hear her crying if its loud but for example, if it gets to the point that she is starting to climb out I wouldnt know that without the monitor. Most of my friends/relatives use them for several years
